DNV Maritime Advisory is consisting of ~ 300 consultants undertaking advisory projects toward the maritime industry globally, and in China as part of DNV Technical Centre China to offer one-stop shop for all maritime and offshore business needs including technical advisory and shipping/safety advisory services. Our customers are owners, yards, designers and oil majors from local industry and also all over the world.
Maritime Advisory is also strongly engaged in digitalization and decarbonization, with focus on offering relevant consulting services and solutions to support our clients to navigate all the complexities and uncertainties in the 2D transformation incl. smart shipping, smart ships, cyber security, digital twins, alternative fuels, energy efficiency and emission control etc.
We are currently seeking for talents that will have special focus to develop on structural analysis on yield, buckling and fatigue analysis. In addition, there are also opportunities to get involved in other disciplines e.g. related to noise and vibration and other advisory disciplines in general. You will report to the Head of Technical Advisory China.

You can develop professional and technical skills and solutions for our clients in various areas depending on qualifications and interests.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct structural strength assessment for different ship types and ship systems, e.g. ship global and local strength analysis, collision analysis, fatigue assessment and crack propagation calculation, etc.
Conduct hull condition assessment and monitoring, life-time extension for ships and offshore units in operation.
Conduct vibration analysis for ship and offshore structures
Develop sales proposal including scope of work definition, budgeting and support on sales opportunity follow-up.
Develop in other disciplines and contribute as project team member e.g. on other advisory services
Support on sales, marketing and business development initiatives
Customer interactions and follow-up
It is desirable that the candidate have below qualifications:
Fresh graduate with Master’s degree in naval architecture or comparable engineering, major in marine / offshore structural strength design and assessment.
An internship is recommended and can be applied before graduation for suitable candidates
It is a plus to have practical experiences in structural strength assessment projects for ship and offshore
Good basic engineering skills/understanding
Software and tools:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Skilled in FEA software like Genie, Patran, ANSYS, ABAQUS
Programming skills are advantageous
Knowledges on machinery are advantageous
Quick learner to absorb new knowledge and skill, takes a proactive approach to personal development to learn and continuously update skillset
Proactive identifier of issues or obstacles and innovative in proposing and implementing solutions
Adaptable and reactive approach with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Familiar with classification rules and other statutory rules would be advantageous
Experiences on noise and vibration analysis and measurement would be advantageous
