This role is part of a small team that delivers and maintains IT solutions to support the growing Asset Management business in China. The primary function is to act as the location IT lead and is responsible for the local technology solutions, vendor management and stakeholder management. The role will also involve all aspects of the project lifecycle including project management, business analysis, technical design, test planning and execution, and release planning. As part of the global AM IT organization, there is opportunity to leverage and contribute to global applications, to better support the China business. The successful candidate will be responsible for:- Building strong relationships with business stakeholders from all departments front-to-back.- Surveying, analyzing, and evaluating business processes, data flows, and architecture, including local and global systems.- Proposing solutions, and documenting revised processes, business requirements, and functional specifications.- Managing projects and enhancement tasks from inception through delivery and post-project reviews.- Working with external vendor partners for development, and contributing to quality of their delivery.- Training the Support team, analyzing post-production issues, and proposing and owning resolutions.- Ensuring an effective control environment, proactively identifying and raising risks and driving remediation.- Support business continuity, due diligence and audit activities.*Your team : This role is part of a small team that delivers and maintains IT solutions to support the growing Asset Management business in China.*Your expertise : A successful candidate will have:? Strong, but pragmatic, views on 'best-practice' architectures and solution design.? Strong problem-solving skills with abilities in data-level analysis and process troubleshooting.? Ability to work autonomously, but with guidance and collaboration from a closely-knit local team.? Awareness of testing methodologies, test-driven development, and talent in probing and discovering functional flaws.? Basic technical skills including database structures, Oracle, SQL, scripting, ability to review code against technical design.? Awareness of standard SDLC methodologies, required artefacts, and how this role contributes to the project cycle.? Fluency in verbal and written English and Mandarin? Good understanding of funds management industry in China along with in-depth knowledge of business and application processes covering investments, trading, middle office, operations and distribution.The following are Highly Desirable:? Higher technical competency in development of desktop application or server-side processes using VBA, C#, Java, etc.? Experience of wider industry such as custodians, or regulatory bodies.?
