SUMMARY This outside sales position will have a focus on generating and leading Thermal Division of Boyd China efforts on new biz like EV/AV, infrastructure & hybrid activities across all market segments. The employee sells products and services for Boyd Corporation by performing the duties outlined below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Presents to customers, joins conferences, speaks to relevant consortiums and elevates the company as the “go to company” for new biz solutions like EV/AV solutions etc. Personally, visits existing customer locations to support and manage on-going business by maintaining strong relationships with operating departments and various management levels. Personally visits prospective customer locations to develop new business. Requires frequent entertainment and after-hours engagements. Also, assigns and drives global activity with other Boyd-Aavid Thermal Business Development executives to ensure progress and success in winning new programs and projects. Has and continues to develop intimate knowledge of the new biz, Infrastructure and Hybrid market. Displays and demonstrates products and solutions using samples and catalogues, providing value added guidance to customers. Utilizing knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, illustrates and emphasizes Boyd’s value-added propositions. Quotes prices to maximize revenue, while maximizing Gross Margin in conjunction with the Sales Support Team, performs technical review of engineering drawings and specifications, gathers and prepares required information for formal quotation including, but not limited to, drawings, sample parts, technical data, volumes, and material sources for submittal to Boyd Estimating. Manages the preparation of formal quotation packages for customer review. With support from the Sales Support Team, monitors and manages progress of projects in order to successfully meet customers’ milestones and production schedules, from inception to implementation. Oversight includes ensuring material availability and tooling, engineering, and production readiness. Requires understanding of technical and quality specification, to include but not limited to ISO-9001:2000, TS16494, ISO 140001, RoHS, and REACH. If required, responds to customer requests such as credit terms, RFIs, and so forth. Manages aspects of the relationship per terms and conditions of existing agreements, as well as negotiating new agreements in conjunction with Boyd management. Responds when necessary to special customer needs or complaints. Prepares weekly sales reports of business status and opportunities. Communicates customer order and program planning with appropriate functional groups. Actively engages with the Materials Team and customer to minimize excess and obsolete materials, and ensures compensation from customers per their materials liability. Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments. A successful track record selling complex products into the Auto and Heavy Duty Truck Markets. Experience or knowledge of the Ag/Construction and Specialty vehicle markets are a plus. The candidate will know technical leaders in the various market segments responsible for developing and integrating this technology. The candidate will be able to articulate the market needs and requirements for Thermal and environmental sealing solutions. A strong business acumen. Preferably Candidate has experience in selling either Thermal Solutions or Die Cuts. Needs to be able to sell both product lines. The ideal candidate will be able to identify high potential opportunities in HEV/EV and AV Markets (Globally), utilizing thermal management systems in heat recovery, and temperature control, control electronics, steering and mapping, battery management. They will utilizing an assessment tool (strategic selling or other) to choose the best opportunities focused on current and developing products that will enable the business development technical teams to be successful. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficient using Microsoft Office business software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to learn additional software programs such as CAD programs is required. Working knowledge of MRP systems needed.
