The engineering and maintenance manager is leading the plant engineering team and managing the plant maintenance operations at new blending and packaging facility at Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province. This position brings method, structure and consistency while ensuring the compliance with regulatory requirements and Vavoline’s engineering processes. The manager will be working in close collaboration with Plant manager and acts as the primary contact with corporate engineering team. This very important position is overseeing approximately 5 employee and playing a key role in operational efficiency, safety, reliability of the plant.Responsibilities:Lead the maintenance and engineering improvement strategy, plans and objectives in the plant.  Act as the direct linkage between the corporate engineering team and the plant. Develop and execute program to improve overall equipment efficiencies and plant reliability.  Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering solution and serve as the liaison with corporate engineering, vendor and engineering consultant.Lead the plant maintenance and engineering team and manage day to day plant maintenance activities focusing on long term reliability improvements;Responsible for the operation and maintaining of DCC process control system (Siemens based);Prepare capital investment requests by determining the best equipment design and/or facility layout and providing justification for the expenditure;Lead in the development and improvement of preventative and predictive maintenance programs and their implementations at the plant Co-ordinate the startup and commissioning of new equipment. His/her responsibilities will include the following: Review and comment on the detailed project work plans, as developed by the construction project manager.Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and complaints, and advise on pre-empting or correcting these elements as soon as possible. Ensure construction activities are progressing according to predetermined schedule.Report the project progression to the steering group on a regular basis. Propose appropriate action in time, in case of deviation from the project plan, to the steering group to ensure that the project objectives will be meet.Help perform project accounting functions including monitoring the budget, tracking expenses and making recommendations for minimizing exposure and risk for projects, as appropriate.Establish a quality monitoring plan, ensure that all materials and fittings used in the construction are of the quality ordered.Attend all relevant meetings as scheduled and conducted by the primary parties involved and with sub-teams.Monitor the coordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the project, including the architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and labourers.Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.Inspect construction sites regularly.Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, safety standards and national regulations.Ensure project documents are complete and that a full set of as-built drawings and documents are retained for the School.Planning, scheduling and overseeing routine preventative maintenance tasks on roofs, HVAC, and water equipment.Inspect campus facilities to ensure that they are suitable for safe operations, and maintained in an attractive and clean condition.Help determine the type, amount and proper delivery of maintenance, grounds and cleaning materials to support the department in efficient delivery of its duties.Coordinate contractors and vendors supplying construction, maintenance, grounds and cleaning service.Supervise campus maintenance, grounds and cleaning staff.Help estimate the time and materials costs of proposed projects for the purpose of informing budgeting, planning and accountability of actual project costs.Coordinate the purchasing of furniture and equipment related to the operation of the school.Coordinate appropriate facilities set-up, arrangement and technical equipment for a variety of activities (conferences, camps, sports events, school celebrations, examinations).Help lead and control project work, on a continuous basis, by motivating and coaching the project members.Coordinate and/or lead staff training to improve work quality, ensure safety, or ensure compliance with country regulations.Solve any possible disputes raised when working with contractors or among the project team, to assure the project to be done according to plan and protect the rights of the school.
